A very special tour. Our guide Alessandro was warm, friendly and informed. We learned interesting details about both the Appian Way and the Catacombs. Even though a different guide took us through the subterranean part, Alessandro took us back inside the church to explain Bernini’s works and their Borghese links. I’d highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Alessio was a very pleasant, knowledgeable guide but it wasn't the tour we expected. We went by public bus rather than by a minibus which wasted time. The tour of the tombs and walking along the Appian Way were both fine but we thought we were seeing the Aquaducts, which was why we choose this tour. Alessio suggested we continued to walk to the Aquaduct Park but this took ages and was very difficult to find. We would have been better to do the Park on our own by public transport.

Alessio was a great tour guide. I learned a lot! I feel the description of the tour is a bit misleading, though. I thought he’d be guiding us on the tour of the catacombs but he waited outside and the catacombs had their own guide. He wasn’t as good as Alessio, and it was disappointing because it was very crowded and short. The catacombs tour ended up being only 30 min. A lot of this tour was travel... anyway 5 stars for Alessio, 2 stars for the catacombs

Our guide, Alex, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I learned more than I expected and he gave the history of a number of unrelated things along the tour. I appreciated being picked up and dropped off in a convenient location. I would definitely do another Civitatis tour when I return to Rome.

Francesca was great. She took us to see the Roman Aqueducts which was not listed on the tour. I wish we had gone further on the Appian way. We stopped before we got to the really old part with only the rocks and no paving. Otherwise it was very good. Her English was perfect. You should also mention that these are small, intimate groups, not herds of people.

We really liked the Catacombs, although we would have liked to see more of it. Same goes for the Appian Way. It is a beautiful piece of nature but only got to see a small part of it. I would recommend people to rent a bike and enjoy the environment while cycling through it. We really enjoyed the company of our guide Ricardo.

Very enjoyable tour of the Appian Way and San Callisto catacombs with Riccardo (St. Sebastian catacombs were closed that day). He provided very clear meeting instructions and tailored the tour to meet our interests. There were only two of us in the group, so a very personalised experience and he spent extra time with us. He was very friendly and provided excellent local advice and recommendations. We got to see some beautiful sights off the beaten track and have a beautiful afternoon tea.

I'll tell you why. Because you have not replied my first complaint yet, although it har been now two days. 6337540 was my order No, when I booked a tour from your website. I was told to meet at a certain place where a person with a sign that said Civitatis would wait for me. I showed up at least fifteen minutes early, and waited for almost 70 minutes. No one ever showed!!!! I paid €40 in advance. Now give me back my money!!!! And why have tou not replied yet on my first complaint?

The bus was supposedly broken, so we took a public bus. It took us to another catacomb than the one mentioned on the ticket. During this time, the “guide” was constantly on her phone and shared no info or guided us like she was supposed to. The catacombs that were supposed to be visited were apparently closed for the day and no one let us know or gave us a chance to switch days to be able to visit them. They just decided without asking first to take us to somewhere else. Just awful. Never again.

Our partner had to change to another catacomb since one of the participants had reduced mobility, but no notice was sent regarding that issue. We apologize for the inconveniences this matter may have caused. The appropriate compensation has been applied.
