L'esperienza è molto comoda in quanto si ha una guida che parla italiano, il museo è molto grande di conseguenza è impossibile fare tutto e con calma (da tenere a mente). Siamo poi stati portati al "palazzo dei profumi" dove non è obbligatorio comprare (ma in un certo senso si percepisce che non c'è scampo). Purtroppo nel negozio tutti i pos erano non funzionanti (ops) quindi viene richiesto pagamento in euro (con il cambio fatto a spanne ovviamente a loro vantaggio)

The experience is very comfortable as you have a guide who speaks Italian, the museum is very large and therefore it is impossible to see everything calmly (keep that in mind). We were then taken to the "palace of perfumes" where it is not mandatory to buy (but in a way, you sense that there is no escape). Unfortunately, in the shop, all the POS were not working (oops), so payment in euros is requested (with the exchange done roughly, obviously to their advantage).

Esta excursión consta de 2 partes 1a parte-Museo y Tuttankamon. Explicación muy breve del guía y pienso que debería dejar más tiempo para fotos en cada sala, en vez de tiempo libre al final, ya que se hace difícil para gente no experta buscar las obras de arte por el museo, no es intuitivo, todo en árabe e inglés 2a parte-Barco solar de Keops. El guía no nos acompañó ni nos explicó nada Por último, había 3 horas de recogida, el guía coordinó los grupos y se marchó

This tour consists of two parts: Part 1 - Museum and Tutankhamun. The guide's explanation was very brief, and I think more time should be allowed for photos in each room, instead of free time at the end, as it's difficult for non-experts to find the artworks in the museum; it's not intuitive, and everything is in Arabic and English. Part 2 - The Sun Ship of Cheops. The guide didn't accompany us or explain anything. Finally, there was a three-hour pick-up time; the guide coordinated the groups and left.

Nos recogieron a la hora acordada y tuvimos el tiempo que quisimos para ver el museo a nuestro ritmo. El problema es que la guía nos hizo una explicación de una hora y media a lo sumo, y luego se sentó mientras nosotros visitábamos el museo por nuestra cuenta. Visto lo visto no hacía falta coger este tour ya que creíamos que nos guiaría y explicaría muchas más cosas teniendo en cuenta el tamaño del museo y la cantidad de cosas que hay para ver. Con una audio guía habría sido suficiente.

They picked us up at the agreed time and we had as much time as we wanted to see the museum at our own pace. The problem is that the guide gave us an explanation of an hour and a half at most, and then sat down while we visited the museum on our own. Given what we saw, it wasn't necessary to take this tour since we thought the guide would lead us and explain many more things considering the size of the museum and the amount of things to see. An audio guide would have been sufficient.

O tour com a guia Asma foi excelente, mostrando todos as atrações principais do museu, detalhes da história e coleções existentes, com tempo para fotos e explorar o anexo com a barca solar. Um ponto problemático foi a inclusão de um almoço com custo adicional pelo contato da Dunas, Ahmed, combinado com parte do grupo, chegando a sugerir que podíamos voltar de uber no caso de não aderir à "surpresa". Mas o pacote contratado incluía transfer ida e volta. Incabível a imposição da refeição paga.

The tour with guide Asma was excellent, showing all the main attractions of the museum, details of its history and existing collections, with time for photos and exploring the annex with the solar boat. One problematic point was the inclusion of a lunch at an additional cost by the Dunas contact, Ahmed, arranged with part of the group, even suggesting that we could return by Uber if we didn't accept the "surprise". But the contracted package included round-trip transfer. The imposition of the paid meal was unacceptable.

El Gran Museo es uno de los nuevos imperdibles en El Cairo y es algo impresionante de ver, tanto por su arquitectura como por lo que se expone. Ahora, que es lo que puede arruinar la experiencia? Un guía que no tenga buena voluntad al dar explicaciones, que te lleve apurado por todos lados sin dejarte nada de tiempo libre para apreciar por tu cuenta o sacar fotos y que se enfoque demasido tiempo en mostrarte cosas que no tienen un peso historico y visual a la altura de lo que se expone.

The Grand Museum is one of Cairo's newest must-see attractions and is truly impressive, both for its architecture and its exhibits. So, what can ruin the experience?
